Long time, no post

It's been a whirlwind summer already and with a promise to family and friends, we are back up to blogging and posting some pictures. These are a few of Matty enjoying his summer...and growing up to be a big boy!

Memorial Day Hike

This is a bit overdue but here are a few pictures of us taking a our first of hopefully many hikes this year! On Memorial Day, we went up north to Rattlesnake Mountain near Holderness NH, which is right on Squam Lake, which is actually where the movie "On Golden Pond" was filmed! The hike is relatively easy and I was pretty sure we could handle it with Matty since this was a hike we did while I was pregnant and could handle it fine. I carried Matty up in our new "ergo baby" carrier, which he seemed to like. We all enjoyed the views from the top and spent some time relaxing in the sun, enjoying some snacks before heading back down. Andrew carried him down and he started to fall asleep halfway down (Matty, not Andrew!) and slept in the carrier for about a half hour. We then hit the road to The Yankee Smokehouse, once of Andrew's favorite places to visit ever since he worked at Camp Birchmont in Wolfeboro NH. We all enjoyed some BBQ and a nice ride through the lakes region. All in all, it was a great day!

Matty has taken a few steps a couple of times, no more than 4 or 5 steps in between Andrew and me. We were at the park today and he was practicing his new skill...

Mother's Day and Polly's Pancake Parlor

I celebrated my 2nd Mother's Day by waking up at 4:45 am to a sick baby and getting vomited on 5 minutes before I had to leave for work an hour later...poor little guy had been fighting some sort of stomach virus for a couple of days. Over those few days he ran a temp of 101.9, threw up several times and had just been overall really really cranky. He's doing better now, no temp and no more throwing up but he is still pretty cranky, needy and clingy...whenever he has gotten like this in the past we always say "maybe he's teething" and of course, after 13 months (Yes, he turns 13 months tomorrow!) he still has no teeth. However, we are thinking (I know, we've said this before) that maybe, maybe there are some teeth coming! His top gums have white bumps and looks like possibly the 2 "fangs" are ready to come through...that would be a pretty funny sight! We'll have to see!
Despite the "fun" morning and having to work, the rest of the day was great. Matty was feeling better after a long nap and some motrin, so I got out of work at noon and we headed up north to Polly's Pancake Parlor for our first pancake experience of the year. It was pretty cold and actually snowed a bit but still fun. The pancakes were just as good as ever and Matty enjoyed his banana pancake...he actually ate more than he as in a few days. Matty and I both napped on the way home which is always nice to do! I'm sure we will be heading to Polly's a few more times this summer!
